4 New Instructors Certified
Infant Aquatics welcomes new instructors from Ohio, South Dakota, Colorado and Tennessee
Jayne Ackerman has been actively involved in aquatics for the past 9 years as a water safety instructor, lifeguarding instructor, certified pool operator and aquatics director. After receiving a BS degree in biology and environmental studies, Jayne began looking for a rewarding career that would fit with her lifestyle plans. Following extensive research, Jayne chose to train with Judy Heumann and join the Infant Aquatics Network. Jayne will be serving the greater Columbus Ohio area.
Andrea Oswald grew up in Nebraska, where she was actively involved in sports. She played collegiate volleyball at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated with a degree in psychology and exercise science. Andrea spent 10 years as a nanny, where she was introduced to Infant Aquatics when she brought two children to Swim Float Swim! in Colorado for lessons. Her nanny career afforded her the opportunity for extensive travel which was followed by a year off to travel around the world. Before leaving, she realized that she wanted to be independent in her next venture. Her love for children, sports and the ability to control her future schedule made the decision to become an Infant Aquatic Survival Specialist an easy one. Andrea is excited to be saving lives in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area.
Colleen Goldsmith grew up loving the water. Colleen has a graduate degree in educational psychology, and has taught preschool and 4th and 5th grade. Her passion for teaching all ages led her to seek out certification as an Infant Aquatic Survival specialist. She trained with Kyla Heumann RN and will be teaching with Jolyn Anderson at Highlands Swim Academy in Denver.
Karen Packer comes to the Infant Aquatics Network with 9 years of experience as an infant water survival instructor. Karen wanted to further her education by participating in the intensive training course offered by Judy and Kyla Heumann at Swim Float Swim! She was excited to be part of the fall training with Jayne, Andrea and Colleen, learn new techniques to enhance her program and gain experience with group classes for students who have completed private lessons. We are proud that she has chosen to join the Infant Aquatics team!
