Welcome New Instructors from South Africa, New Hampshire, and Oklahoma

Four new instructors have trained with Judy and Kyla Heumann RN at Swim Float Swim! in Longmont, Colorado.

Kristen Turk is a USA swim club coach who, swam competitively for 20 years and coached for 11 years. Although the water was never scary to Kristen, once she became a parent she realized the gap existing between infant/toddler swimming and the traditional first swim lessons at age 3 or 4. She knew that becoming an Infant Aquatics instructor was the perfect fit for her swimming background and love of water. She is relocating from Virginia to New Hampshire while her husband Ryan pursues an MBA at Dartmouth University and will be offering Water Baby Infant Aquatics at the River Valley Club in Lebanon.

Nikki Dovey grew up on the South African coast, in a family with a real passion for water and the outdoors. Nikki writes: “As a parent, the comfort of knowing that my children can continue to develop their love for water, while armed with the skills to do so safely is invaluable. I wanted to share this comfort with others and do what I could to ensure that no family had to needlessly suffer the pain and heart-ache associated with water ”

Shauli Lustig’s life has been centered around the water. He grew up swimming, sailing, surfing, wind surfing and scuba diving. A sailing instructor since the age of 16, and later a Naval officer and boat captain. Shauli writes “My life without water would be like removing a fish out of the sea.” With the birth of his two sons, he discovered a passion for children that he never knew existed. This passion, combined with his love for water, drew him to pursue Infant Aquatics certification. He will also be joining the team at Infant Aquatics Academy, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Gay McRay hails from Chickasha, Oklahoma. A mom, grandmother, former kindergarten teacher and currently a 3rd grade teacher, she writes, “I have always loved interacting with children.
